Importance of Transition

It is now known to all coaches that the most important element of training in football is the actions that take place during the transition.

At what age should it be introduced?

Transition drills should be obligatory in every training session. The most basic and at the same time the most important of transition rules in training are:

• When I lose the ball, I act at the moment and at the point where it is lost, in order to recover it immediately.

• When I win the ball, I try to keep possession or push it forward immediately.

How can it be introduced at younger ages?

Let's face it! Realism is an element that should not be missed in any training session.

Nowadays, training tends to be repetitive without giving the necessary emphasis to detail. And to some basic football habits, every coach should emphasize not only the quality of the energy but also the way it is achieved.
